Novel Writing with Authentically Created
November to New Year
A FREE 3-Month Workshop
Schedule
-
Sign-up from September 1 - 27 to get access into the exclusive Facebook Group and ensure you are on the mailing list to receive the emails throughout the workshop.
-
It all begins with setting the foundation. From October 1 - 31, we will focus on plotting and planning your novel to aide you when it comes time to write.
-
With a goal of 50,000 words written in November, everything we do will be geared towards helping you hit your word count goals. Attend weekly virtual write-ins, update your word count in the group every Wednesday, and if you get stuck, participate in the Saturday Morning Shakeup writing prompts.
-
Whether you hit your November goals or not, we are going to keep moving forward with writing our novels from December 1 - 31. We will still host weekly virtual write-ins every Tuesday, give you a chance to update your word count on Wednesday, and provide you with writing prompts during Saturday Morning Shakeups. It is our hope that by the end of this month, you'll have a messy rough draft to proceed forward with in the new year.
-
We will wrap up the workshop with a virtual celebration and award announcements on January 3rd.

How much does this cost?
It is free to participate. The only thing you need to provide is your email address to receive the emails for the Workshop. This will also sign you up to receive the weekly Plot Points newsletter from Authentically Created. Please note: If you unsubscribe at any time, you will not receive the Workshop emails as it will unsubscribe you from both.
Will there be anything for sale?
For this event, everything you need to participate in it is included free of charge. If you would like to purchase swag, additional resources, or book services, there will be chances for you to do that.
What happens if I can’t reach 50,000 words?
Absolutely nothing. This is a really big goal, and having challenged ourselves to do this each year, we understand how daunting this number can be. If you don’t feel you can hit it in November, feel free to adjust and make it the total over both November and December, giving you two months to reach it.
Why is the goal 50,000 words?
Most novels have a minimum of 50,000 words traditionally. This is a good starting point to get your story out of your head and onto paper (or on the computer). Non-Fiction books tend to be 40,000-60,000 upon completion whereas Fiction books tend to be 80,000-125,000 upon completion. By aiming for 50,000 in the month of November alone, we can continue adding to our word count in December. This also helps us have enough to choose from when we self-edit and condense. It is always better to have more than not enough.
What do I do after I write my novel?
The beauty of being an Indie Author is that you have total control and creative freedom to do with your novel as you wish. If you aren’t sure of the next steps needed, we are more than happy to help you.
What exactly is a messy rough draft?
It is an initial, incomplete version of your writing that generally will be full of errors and in need of editing and potential rewriting. The sole purpose of this is to get your ideas out of your head and in a format that you can work with to build your final story. Rarely is this draft seen by anyone other than you (unless you choose to share it). Often, it will change over time as you edit it and your final book may look completely different or partially different to your messy rough draft.
